3 rounds of Devilry Afoot, 17th Century horror

Our game(s) for this month’s session was a few scenarios of Devilry Afoot.

The first scenario had the 5 of us trying to find the pay chests that brigands had taken from a local militia.

Devilry Afoot is a cooperative game where players are hired to do hunts against monsters or in this case, outlaws.

I’ve set our games in North American 17th century. In this game the Outlaws are French trappers. Our hunters are all Pilgrims.

Musket blasts and close quarter fighting abound. Dave’s Gentleman character dispatched one of the French outlaws by the sword while my priest uncovers one of the hidden pay chests and defends against another trapper!

As the rest of our team cuts down their adversaries.

Our next game was a hunt for a marauding Barghest in the foggy forests. We used a Smilodon as a stand in. Megafauna thought long dead.

This guy was a 3D print from Etsy.

Our team moves to the center to take a stand at the rocks.

And the smilodon is dispatched by vicious fire from Dave making for a short, but profitable game.

Next game involved Boogeymen trying to steal children who became lost in the forest.

The children safely navigate their way out of the dangerous fairy grass.

Leaving the huntsman to dispatch the beasts!

A great game with pretty simple mechanics that plays fast, with a campaign system to build your characters up after each game.

More to come,

Doc
