Where Heroes Dare! updates...

The End is Near. I'm about 90% done with the Where Heroes Dare! book. Over the weekend I hashed out the Campaign Rules for creating your own stories one Chapter at a time. Also in the Campaign section the Characters in your teams grow in Fortune or suffer in Peril depending on who was still standing at the end of the game. A few more test games and it will just be a matter of a little proofreading and dropping in the rest of the art.

So what kind of team would you pick for Where Heroes Dare!? A Creepy Cultist leading his murderous disciples or maybe a German Mystic with an attache of German SS?

Or Maybe an All American Nazi Smasher leading a team of clandestine operatives is more up your alley.
These are all available to your tailoring in Where Heroes Dare!

More History from a Dystopian Future...

I found a few more scans of characters I had drawn in the 90's for Gamma World RPGing and also for a comic book project I did. The comic book I did was 16 pages long and was meant to be an opener to a full story set in a post apocalyptic society called Murder World. The picture to the side is one of Stryges, one of the major villains, who leads an enforcer caste known as the Legion. The comic starts off with the hero of the book leaving the Legion and who is then put on trial and sentenced to death by impalement in the wastelands. Yes it is not a PG comic. If I get time with all the Where Heroes Dare! stuff I'm currently working on, I may post some pages of the comic.

Days gone past...

used to have a lot of Games Workshop stuff many, many moons ago. I stumbled across some photos of it and thought I would share. The images are not the best, these were taken with an old film camera, but some shots of the Genestealer Cult Army I had, enjoy!

The Magus with Familiar
A Cultist Chimera

Our local gaming group has been working it's way through some RPG action in the best environment, the fall of Mankind ala Gamma World. I grew up GMing the 3rd and 4th editions, but we are using the Alternity variant with success in my opinion. The rules are easy enough to remember for once a month games and the detail can be as much or as little as you want. The other plus is that everything you need to play is in one book. Above, I dug out some old sketches I made in the 90's while waiting for exposures to finish at work, check 'em out.

Memorial Day weekend...

Fun at Bethany Beach, Delaware. Not too many people, water was a little cold, but we had a great time. My daughter went in her first Haunted House ride and loved it and went in her first water park, Jungle Jim's which although pricey, was a blast. Looking forward to next time down :)

Twisted Science!

New additions to the Lab today. First a look at some new basing I have done to simulate concrete or pavers. I mixed a few drops of black ink, some fine sand, a little water together with plaster and painted the bases with it. After it dried I dry brushed with white and then went in with an exacto knife and scored paver lines on the base. Lastly I mixed watered down black acrylic and painted it into the scored lines. I am pretty happy with how it turned out and will be using this method for more of my Pulp stuff.

New basing method.
Klank moves!
Professor Enist tests the Tesla Rifle.

Pilot Jim Hardy and his trusty companion Sarah Sturdy.
The Masked Avengeress!!
Klaus, son of the Mad Doktor Umlaut.

Arts and Entertainment...

I saw the Star Trek movie on Friday and although I'm not a huge Star Trek fan, I do not know the Ferengi laws of acquisition but do know they exist, I found the movie very enjoyable. In fact one of the best out of what they have made. Good stuff!

Music, currently enjoying:

No Thanks! Punk of the 70's. It's got a few lemons, but most is really good stuff. Also listening to Rachmaninoff's Piano Concierto's and Yo Yo Ma's Silk Road Journey's which are great background music for writing/painting.

Books: Finished this

Great book covering the Baron's life and an interesting look at Buddhism and Mongholia in the 20-30's. Still reading the bio on Durruti, the Anarchist leader of the Durruti Column in the Spanish Civil War. Good book with lots of detail on the culture and environment of Spain's turbulent years.

Any other good books, music, films out there?

What I'm playing on screen...

I dug out my Playstation 1 and have been replaying Final Fantasy Tactics which is a turn based, fantasy strategy game. It's a lot like a miniatures game with some roleplaying elements. You can hire soldiers, raise their abilities, and change their jobs as you fight through an in depth story/campaign. Rated one of the best games for PS1, give it a try.
