28mm Monkey Wrench, dirty deeds done dirt cheap
Some more additions to my Pulp 80s project, this time a later addition Dredknok and a Communications technician.
Monkey Wrench was born in North Wales on Guy Fawkes day and later developed an antisocial behaviour after getting caught up in the New Wave movement. I wonder if he liked The Damned? The cartoon has him with a phobia of spiders, but he is supposed to be the Dredknok explosives expert. He is armed with an odd bit of MARs tech, D-57 rifle. It fires a Harpoon capable of penetrating armor with a shaped charge built into it.
Dialtone was a late arrival to the Joes and was there Communications and Technical specialist.
Firefly, late as usual Brother
Who’s late, we are on time.
Did you bring the charges?
I’m all outta c-4
Hurry up Vipers, bring the explosives ashore.
Vipers, do as Zartan says
It’s definitely the stolen explosives Dialtone, call it in to HQ
We may need to pin them until support arrives
Calling it in now Outback.
More to come,
Doc

ReplyDeleteThanks man!
DeleteThat's brilliant! I always loved the Dredknok's in the comics - wasn't it around issue #30 or so that they were first introduced? And they always would drink grape soda? It's literally been like 30 years since I've read any of those books and now seeing all your posts I wish I hadn't sold them all now!
ReplyDeleteDo they do any omnibus's or anything of the original Larry Hama run?
Yeah, they were real characters in the comics. Hama supposedly created them based off some of his experiences with the Australians he met serving in Vietnam. They do have collected trades for all of the ARAH comics.
