Brew up in Benzheen! Test run of the 2019 Historicon game

I had a chance to test run the game I have planned for Historicon this year. Set in the 1980s Pulp nation of Benzheen, the emir has set 4 different factions against each other to see who he will award a defense contract to.

The Russians enter the table with a BMP-1 full of troops.

Cobra forces enter the town, a Mk1 HISS with rail riders

Iron Grenadiers arrive

Along with a Mk V HISS

The Russian T62 arrives 

Cobra forces advance

The Oktober Guard BTR moves in behind the burned out HUMMER

Zap and his fire team advances

A DEMON arrives and elevates to fire on the T62

But fails to acquire 

The Joes Grizzly MBT arrives

The Mauler gets taken out by a lucky hit from a full Stinger salvo.

The cobra Stinger in its fire position

The BMP-1 shoves the Hummer our of the way.

Cobra forces are bogged down by a local mob of civilians

Pinning them.

The Oktober Guard find s helpful local that guides them in their targets.

The second HISS tank moves into position

-but is taken out by offboard artillery!

The Stinger is destroyed by small arms for from the Joes.

Joes hunker down in a building

The Grizzly begins pounding the Iron Grenadiers in the building.


The Iron Grenadiers take damage.


The Awestriker misses its shot and is taken out by a DEMON.

Fire is exchanged between buildings

The BMP advances and fires its Sagger

Cobra forces maneuver to fire

The DEMON advances

Oktober Guard Fire on the remaining Mk1 HISS

Gunner is killed in the turret

Followed by Driver killed by the Grizzly

Last of the Mk1s

The Hiss APC moves to fire on the BMP

Rockets away!

DEMON raises to fire again

Firefly advances 

BMP is destroyed!

Firefly places charges on the DEMON and destroys it!

Oktober BTR is destroyed by an IED

In the end the Joes won the contract with 20 vps with of kills with the Soviets at a close second.
