A friend ran a Flames of War ‘Nam game for us for our monthly game.

US Forces

The table set up of the river and village

The boats begin their moves on the river

Bar armor protects the sides of the larger craft

A landing is made

Locals are questioned

US force move toward their first objective

No signs of VC...yet

VC! Boil over out of the tall grass

Dug in troops attack the US infantry patrol

Heavy fire

But with single shot rifles

The VC move to flank the US forces

As the next boat moves in to reinforce

NVA mortars deploy on the opposite bank

US forces advance to the village through the rice Pattie’s

Heavy artillery from the 105s rain down on the VC

Spider hole bunkers reveal themselves!

Trapped by a Booby trap!

NVA reinforcements arrive

Pushing the US forces back but they have already gathere the needed Intel.

NVA move to cut off the retreat back to the boats

As the last US forces board for a US victory
