The Rockhound Salvage, a classic 1980's Star Frontiers RPG night

I ran a Star Frontiers one night adventure for our December game this past Saturday.

"You’ve joined this salvage crew for one reason, credits! What I’m about to tell you is for your audio receptors only! I’ve recently been given a lead from a trade at the All’s Fair bar on Forge’s Waypoint Station. A signal has been received, looks to be UPF encoded, but faint, distorted and not on a standard channel. The code signature looks to be an old Dralasite mining freighter, The Rock Hound, that has not been seen in 20 years, lost during the first Sathar Wars. The signal is putting it on the edge of the Muld Nebula, with some tweaking of the scanner, thanks to trader I bartered with for the signal, we will be able to drop out of Void almost on top of it. The drive core alone on the ship will give us a salvage haul worth 10 years not counting it’s cargo! Trick is, we need to get in and get out before the UPF pick up the signal and scrap it themselves. Each crew member gets their share of 3% of the haul, which will keep you in spice and ale for a good number of years to come.

PCs will be provided unless players would like to create their own, just let me know. We will be using the expanded Zebulon's Guide rules."

The set up

A poster holder from Walmart is used as a dry erase board

Miniatures are by Khurasan, still haven't seen a 15mm Star Frontiers set for sale yet.

The Sathar were sculpted by me and are available on Thingiverse.

The adventure was loosely inspired by R.R. Martin's Nightflyers book, but with a Star Frontiers spin.

More to come,

Doc
