Brew Up In Benzheen, Historicon 2019

I had an excellent time running the 1980s Brew Up In Benzheen game for some friends at Historicon 2019.

I have players the option to field their own forces and Reg brought a Cobra team-

The players and the table. Some slight changes to the test game’s table set up.

Colonel Brekhov is delayed in his advance by a mob of locals looking to sell dates.

Acquisition attempts are made on the HISS MKV by the T-62

Dusty an Bazooka move through the brush to attack the Grenadiers.

The C.A.T. moves up to counter the Soviets

The Joe Patriot Grizzly advances and solves a Dare! Location.

Horror Show destroys the C.A.T. with a well placed RPG round.

A DEMON locks onto the Awe Striker and shreds it and Dusty,

Grenadiers forward.

Grizzly acquires the Stinger..

And destroys it!

Cobra Mk 1 Hiss moves and fires onto the T62, but fails to penetrate the front mantle.

Grenadiers move to support the vehicles 

Bazooka moves out again to shoot and cripples a Demon

BMP moved to Sagger the Grizzly, but was too close!

Grizzly moves forward to engage the BMP.

Roadblock’s fire team makes it to the roof and begins firing on Cobra and the Soviets.

DEMON destroyed by Bazooka

Mauler destroyed by the other DEMON

Grizzly kills the BMP at point blank range!

A duel begins between the T62 and Grizzly at the square.

Soviet BTR advances

Cobra makes a move

Firefly gets to the high ground and uses his Sabotuer Schlick to detonate hidden charges on the Grizzly, blowing its tracks.

Horror Show fires RPGs at the Grizzly but it does not penetrate the armor.

The immobilized Grizzly is hit by the T62 and the shot penetrates the hull killing everyone but Heavy Metal Who is wounded. But the Grizzly is still kicking!

Wong and Schrage are wounded by Roadblocks team. The Grizzly and T62 continue to spar.

The remaining Mark V tries to take out the T62 but fails.

The BTR is destroyed by the Iron Grenadiers 

Brekhovs team close assaults the burning Grizzly but Heavy Metal fights them off with the pintle 50 cal.

-only to be finished by a Mk 1 HISS who attacked its rear.  The turret of the Grizzly could not turn in the narrow alley to engage it!

Brekhovs team assaults the Hiss but are attacked by Scrap Irons team

The close Assault kills the Hiss gunner, but the driver is okay.

The hiss flees as the T62 moves to engage it

And then finishes off the last DEMON.

Very close game for armor kills,

John’s Oktober Guard had 3 kills

Tim’s Joes had 4

JT’s Grenadiers had 4

Reg’s Cobra forces had 0
